Dating from the first half 20th century this wonderfull polychrome decorative box in the aspect of an egg covered with traditionally hand painted millefleurs and exotic birds/parrots

silver gilt and fuchsia pink silk satin brocade

There is some staining to the cotton lining and a slight rub to the silk to the right front above the seam

The spaces between the horizontal and vertical rows of lines correspond to the warp and weft threads of weaving
