The winding plate was professionally engraved with the original owner's name and city as well as the year of production

The varnish is in flawless condition and there is no sign of wear or use at the ferrules or guides

Below the cartouche it is stamped "reg us pat off"

The mid section has a large scratch above the first guide which it might be a good idea to varnish over (I suspect this was not a hook dig but perhaps from a fall or non-fishing related knock)
