The lower margin inscription reads "Design'd and Engrav'd by Wm. Hogarth" and "Publish'd according to Act of Parliam. March 3, 1764." The composition depicts Father Time in a state of collapse, surrounded by broken and decaying objects. A speech bubble reads "FINIS" and a tavern sign reads "The World's End." The lower
