The backstamp dates the piece to the 1990s and that it was made in England. In 1984, the rights to the Franciscan line were acquired from Gladding McBean by the Johnson Bros division of the Wedgwood group and manufacturing was moved to Staffordshire, England. In 2003, it was moved overseas to China. The English manufactured Franciscan dishes compare favourably to the American made
